BZZZTTT!!!!

Ponned school today, I was not exactly awaiting a very eventful day ahead so i got used to the boredom of the day at the comfort of my TV at home. Oh, and go watch Secret Window starring JOHNNY DEPP!!!!!!! Completely Rocks!!! He makes PSYCHOS look SEXY!!!

I HAVE A NEW COMPUTER! Flat screen ViewSonic, it's DAMN BIG you could see everything that's going on even if you stand like 296349624964 miles away!! (I might possibly be exaggerating a bit.)Hahaha when I got home last night and came in to inspect, my dad had left a classical music cd playing. Seemed like I was in a show room, right here in my very own home!

My dad was telling my mom about one of the lovelier memories he had from when he was a child during dinner yesterday. He saw a cyclist get knocked down by a bus and then dragged along for another bloody (literally) 200 metres before the bus driver noticed something was amiss (maybe he heard a squelching noise?), and by then the poor cyclist was spilling out his intestines.
Do take care when crossing roads!

Alright, I know all of you missed me like crazy today(stop rolling your eyes, okay!!! YOU ARE LIVING IN SELF-DENIAL if you do so) but don't worry, you will see me again tomorrow!!! That's it folks!!!

LAVENIA'S FIRST POST!!!!!!

HAHAH LIKE THE PICTURE? Thought it might be an interesting way to start an entry. Hahahaha! (and that was my cover-up excuse to experiment with the 'upload photo' option.) Ohhh I foresee many more images to be making appearances. :D
All you chinese persons and half-chinesies! THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR to indulge in gambling, with approval from parental units (and the occasional investment, too!) i am currently suffering from a sudden longing to witness a lion dance, it sort of brings back very fond memories of my childhood back in KL plus i had magnimously wealthy neighbours. Wei Jiang, you could have been my neighbour( cass told me u were from KL)!!!!
YOU KNOW you're a word game fanatic when you start making up six/seven letter words in your head, and making other words from those letters, whenever you're standing around and not thinking very much.OHMYGOODNESS I'M A FANATIC. HAHAHAHH!
Some guy in dance class yesterday( stop gasping, yes, i can dance!) did a tarot reading for me. Was rather amusing. I am apparently insecure, and on my way to become someone with great power after a quest for knowledge? The journey of life. I will achieve world domination very soon.
This is my FIRST post and if you find it so highly uninteresting, then u better don't tell me to stop, i'll keep posting atleast till I leave pj.
Ohhh and you know what? I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE WHITE KITKATS EXPIRED ON THE FIRST OF FEBRUARY!!!! HAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!!!! WHOOPS.
that's it folks!!!

:)

Oh yeah, I have another thing to add: I will still buy for the Chemistry notes for all, if needed. :) And try to do as much tutorials as you can, no pressure, ha!

If you want to choose poly/overseas schools/private schools that will let you study university degrees... I will still give you Chem notes, FOC.

But if you want to continue studying in JC/MI(choi)... Please pay when you're required. I beg you! You still need them for at least 20 months! Hahaha!

Let's redox! Let's reduce sadness and oxidise happiness, and let's do these together! And this is a timeless thing, we can do it anytime! Wouldn't it be nice if whatever we do withstand the test of time?

We rock!

Yeah!!! Our class blog has ONE more editor! :) I mean, this being our class blog, I do not head the board and I do not have an editorial team. It is 07S05's editorial team!

Our blog's email, however, is under my account -- ruennsheng.07s05@blogger.com .

Quentin, do not worry --- your first blog entry is great! Your writing's not like a newbie at all!

And Quentin Blake's my favourite illustrator. His illustrations accompanied me throughout my primary school days! (To those who do not yet know)

Do not worry about the tomorrow. We just enjoy what we are today. Life is really this unpredictable --- we won't know what will be our college/school, what will be our course, what are our CCAs or even what are the subjects we will take for 'A' Levels.

After 10 hours or so it will be another New Year... I wish to everybody here a very happy Chinese New Year ahead! Yeah! I think happiness (happiness that is sustainable as well as beneficial to all) is better than anything else in the world, if you are happy throughout your life under all circumstances... I will think that you are the greatest person on Earth! Very few people can do so...

Everybody has their own lows. Like yesterday's Bio test, I discovered that I don't know how to do the MCQ and I can't recall what Ms Yap taught. But I wasn't discouraged --- I know I can try harder next time to do better! :)

I suddenly remembered what one of my friends in RJC was preached in her softball practice, "it ain't over til' it's over". True enough, if you quit and think everything's over, everything will really seem to be over and there are you, sitting in a corner sadly.

I think I know because I was once discouraged when I attend Biology lessons where the teachers threatened to call my sister, who is a doctor, when I failed all her tests. I was discoraged to study Biology for a while when my grandfather died. I did quit studying Biology, I stopped concentrating on it and I tried to study History and Geography... after I was threatened. However, when I left my old school and came to PJC, I just wanted to give Biology a try --- even I have, admittedly, a weak foundation in Biology.

I tried, but even if Mr Wong/Ms Yap wants to talk to any of my family members, I still smile on and try harder in the next test. I just carry on saying 'Hi' to the cells and microscope... Somehow I am somewhat happy still studying Biology...

I really hope we can have a class outing/gathering some time soon... Because I am quite lazy. Nowadays I don't feel like to venture outside Choa Chu Kang, where I live, learn and sleep!

Thursday 15 February 2007

Valentine's

Thank you for posting so enthusiastically! I enjoy this fully. Do remember that this is our class 07S05, made up of the nicest guys/gals from the nicest college!

As tomorrow's Valentine's Day aka Friendship Day, I would like to say a big--big Thank You to all 07S05 Pioneers. Never before in my life I have felt so happy and contented. You have made me happy:)

Yeah. Life is really THIS unpredictable. I don't know what will happen tomorrow. Maybe the bio teacher says, "Let's postpone the Bio test to 22 Feb!" (Let's look at the brighter side of life, okay?) No matter what, I have been encouraged by the warm response of you 07S05 supporters and learnt to be more active in life! Being active means living out the most of life in my life!

I have learnt something in Pioneer as well:

If you fall, you can rise up again. It's okay if you fail as long as you tried your best without any regrets --- and do everything once and do everything well --- as long as you do, you will yield something good.

Hope the power of friendship will stay with us always as long as we live ...

(While we live we learn---)

???

HAPPY ADVANCE FRIENDSHIP DAY/ VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!
Love,
Cass

Happy Valentine's Day

I can kinda understand ruenn sheng's initial 'frustrations'. how come nobody posts new stuff on this blog? so boring la u ppl...

Tmr's Valentine's Day. What have u planned for ur friends and the persons u love and treasure? Do take some time to appreciate and thank them. Cos life's unpredictable. Ur good friend might b knocked down by a lorry while going to school. U'll say,"but he's so healthy! how did he die?" wad's the point of asking that? What's gone is gone.. Don't take things for granted, k?

Very.. erm.. deep eh? lols.. jus feel like sharing wif u guys what i thought.
oh yar, wanna share smt else. it's Jordan's msn nick. i think it makes sense.. so... here it is "
True love does not come byfinding the perfect person, but bylearning how to see an imperfect person perfectly!! " agree?

More Crap

Thanks, Cass! You rock! Your entry's great! Keep the great job done! :D

I don't know how many people will stay in PJC, but I think I will still be here.

Actually the only reason I chose there is simple --- I'll tell you later.

I have a classmate, whose brother used to come from the same school as us, looking satisfied and happy when he went into his "alma mater" (his old school, that is). Guess what? He is from PJC too!

If you smile to others, others will smile at you and they will be happy and contented at their hearts. This is the only thing I learnt in PJC so far, yet this is the most important thing I have ever learnt here.

Since I learnt how to be happy, and how to stay happy at all times (by just smiling all the time --- this needs great self-conscious) in this college, I think I'll stay here.

How I learnt this? From playing football with Solo and Yee Wen, and mugging with Irin and Ai Ling. Haha!

(Don't forget Cass, the blogger who leads our class's way the Pioneer Way)

Attention!

This is my first post >.< And secret photos from my phone.

Rants

Am I the only blogger in this class??? Ha, no. Please blog more often!!!

Tomorrow, O Levels is out. I know some lucky people will know their results way before tomorrow at 2.30pm. I am not one of them:( Never mind.

I will be staying in PJC no matter what but I wonder what about the rest of us? Will you stay or go to poly?

A few piece of advice I want to share:

1) If you want to go to University (and not work so soon/pursuing an interest that is professional and requiring a University degree), you must definitely come to junior college. 98% of our seniors are able to enter universities, local or overseas. Compare this to polytechnics, where 95% of the students work after graduation.

2) For those living in Bukit Panjang/Bukit Batok/Choa Chu Kang it is to our geographical advantage to go to PJC. It's the only JC serving us. You wouldn't want to wake up at 4a.m. to come to college, will you?

For those living elsewhere, don't fret. If you love our JC so much that you must enter PJC, then I'll welcome you with wide open arms --- welcome aboard!

3) If you have 7 points and below, you can enter the top 5 JCs easily, so it's okay to jump ship. HCI and NJC are a 45-minute ride of 67 away from CCK Interchange. RJC is an half-an-hour MRT journey from Woodlands MRT Station. So time and cost concerns may not be so desperate if you want to pursue the fame of being associated with the top JCs - they are easily accesible.

Writing this, I feel hurt --- I have 19 points in prelims and I expect to get 20 points or so in 'O's (if my papers are that easy but I still couldn't do it). Seeing all my friends go to ACJC or JJC or NJC, leaving only less than 20 friends here. I cannot enter those top JCs ---

(In the end I obtained 11 points. It's a miracle. But I was so attached to PJC that I think I cannot bear to leave PJC)

But my father used an example of a top JC's student as an example. After grduating from an Autonomous School, she enrolled in NJC. However, she couldn't handle the stress in the college --- in the end, she only had AABC for A Levels.

It's okay to pursue fame --- but if you are not the type of person who can handle stress, you are welcome to be here at PJC! From what I know, you can pace yourself at any rate here. You can choose to work very, very hard. You can also choose to work very, very slack. Good luck.

I think I will do my best in PJC. I will not care how I will fare, I only work to my very best. I don't care --- even if that means I work that hard but is still retained. Well, my father said that it's okay to be retained --- as long I know I have done to the best of my abilities.

I only shared my personal feeling here.

4) Subject Combination wise, I suggest that you act according to your dreams and goal. If you ain't have one, let me tell you --- NUS is now pushing for more students in Physics, Mathematics and Statistics. Even the China students can easily come here to compete with us, there are still not enough students in these areas. And NTU is pushing for its Arts courses.

So I think if you are still undecided, the best thing is to study Maths, Chemistry and Physics as H2, Economics as H1. This is the subject combination that is the best to handle --- with the best job/university place prospectives.

For me, however, I will still stick with Bio, Chem, Maths as H2 and Geog as H1. I think though these are my weakest subjects, I wanted badly to be a pharmacist. If you want to enter a NUS Pharmacy course, you need H2 Bio and H2 Chem. So die die I must take all of my weakest subjects and stick with it. I don't mind being retained --- Winston Churchill, a retainee himself who later became Britain's PM, spoke "Never, never give up!"

5) My comments are biased but they're from the bottom of my heart. You can oppose to them, why not? Just write/comment/tag. :D

Def_n of gangs

I have said to a friend in another college that we don't have gangs in Pioneer. But I still think gangs are good for us ---

No. I don't mean street gangs, those gangs that steal or fight or even take drugs and do all those criminal and inmoral stuff.

What I meant is "People having the same identity".

Same identity.

Like --- Are we all Pioneers? Are we all from the same OGL/squad/unit/college? Are we all from the same CT/Lecture Room? Are we all studying the same subject combinations???

This includes study gangs, football gangs, mugging gangs, project work gangs... All gangs, as long as they give you the feeling that "we are one and we are a cool gang".

In Pioneer, I know there'll be gangs. Beneficial gangs. But overall, in my impression, I was told that "we are all Pioneers, so why divide into gangs? We're only a company of friends, under the same banner of PJC".

This is the reason why I said to my friend, there're no gangs here in PJC. Because all the gangs can blend as one big organisation that has a greater significance than gangs --- a working team. A group of people having a common--- purpose - to be the best that we can be.

This blog will be biased. Biased towards us.

But no matter what, even as we leave for north, south, east or west... We'll still remember PJC and 07S05 from the bottommost pit of our heart. :)
